Michael Bender of The Wall Street Journal reports on President Trump’s powerful speech to the South Korean General Assembly where he warned North Korea to “not underestimate us, and do not try us.” President Trump called for leader Kim Jong Un to abandon North Korea’s weapons programs, saying, “We will offer a path to a much better future. It begins with an end to the aggression of your regime." After his stop in South Korea, the President will be speaking with Chinese President Xi in Beijing about the importance of working in unison to combat the North Korean threat after “twice naming China as a country that can do more to pressure Pyongyang to change course,” Bender writes.

On the anniversary of President Trump’s election, Vice President Mike Pence writes in USA Today about the many accomplishments of President Trump and his Administration in the last ten months, commenting, “it’s been a year that will be remembered as the time we began to Make American Great Again.”


Regarding tax reform, Rep. Kristi Noem (R-SD) remarks in Fox News that by eliminating the Death Tax, “we’ll eliminate one of the most unfair, un-American taxes on the books,” which will allow Americans to build strong futures for themselves, and for the next generation.


John Bowden of The Hill reports Vice President Pence will travel to Texas on Wednesday to visit with the victims and families of those killed during a service at First Baptist Church.


In immigration news, the National Review’s Deroy Murdock writes that from the start of Fiscal Year 2007 through Fiscal Year 2016, the Visa Lottery awarded green cards to 20,739 Iranians, 7,232 Sudanese, and 812 Syrians, even though the State Department officially designates all three countries as “State Sponsors of Terrorism.” Murdock concludes the lottery is “rolling the dice on public safety,” and should end.
