I especially enjoy hearing from the American people, and I appreciate you emailing your thoughts and suggestions. Today, as Commander in Chief, and on behalf of our proud and grateful Nation, I am honored to award the Medal of Honor to Senior Medical Sergeant Ronald J. Shurer II, of the United States Army. Sergeant Shurer’s heroic and selfless actions saved the lives of his fellow soldiers during Operation Enduring Freedom and earned him the military’s highest and most prestigious military decoration.
